Introduction to the PL330-EVK-U* Reference System
This document gives brief description of the system hardware of Puzzle Logic’s PL330-EVK-U*
Reference Kit. It covers the hardware configuration of this system, how it operates, and how to use
it for evaluation and related product development. This document also provides a step-by-step
procedure to show the user how to install and enable each of the functions.
To start the evaluation process, the user should go through the hardware installation procedure first
and then follow the operational procedures to evaluate the functions provided by the PL330-EVKU*
system.
Finally, a brief explanation on how to use this system as a tool to develop products using Puzzle
Logic’s H264 codec IC (PL330) is provided. This will shorten the development time and save
engineering costs.

System Overall Configuration
There are several main sections of the PL330-EVK-U* system:
(1). Video/Audio input/output connector for A/V daughter card to plug in.
(2). SD interface. (TBD)
(3). Mini-U* connector for control interface
(4). Debug interface, include UART and JTAG.
(5). I2C interface pin header connector.
