The MPU-9x50™ family of parts are the world’s first 9-axis MotionTracking devices designed for battery operated, high performance consumer electronics products.
The 9-axis product family incorporates the same market proven MotionFusion™ and run-time calibration firmware that is supported in InvenSense’s market leading MPU-6000 and MPU-3000 family of products. This firmware has shipped in millions of units and has been very well market validated.
9-Axis MotionTracking has become a key function in many consumer electronics devices including smartphones, tablets, gaming consoles, and smart-TVs. The size advantage of the integrated 9 axis devices versus a discrete solution is compelling for space constrained products such as smartphones and wearable sensors.
The MPU-9x50 devices combine a 3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis compass in the same chip together with an onboard Digital Motion Processor™ (DMP™) capable of processing the complex 9-axis MotionFusion algorithms.

MPU-6000系列产品为全球首例六轴运动感测追踪(MotionTracking)组件,专为须要低功耗、低成本、高性能的消费性电子产品设计。
MPU-6000系列产品包含InvenSense的运动感测融合演算(MotionFusion)与运行校正韧件(run-time calibration firmware),可让采用运动感测功能之产品的制造商,省去挑选、检测、在系统阶段整合各别组件时所须的费用与麻烦,并保证其感测组件融合算法(sensor fusion algorithms)与校正程序(calibration procedures),能提供消费者最佳性能(optimal performance)。
运动感测人机界面(Motion interface)已快速成为如智能型手机、平板电脑、游戏机、智能型电视等许多消费性电子产品的关键功能。能够在自由空间追踪动作,将动作转换成输入指令,使消费者能直觉性的与其电子产品互动。
此产品整合三轴陀螺仪与三轴加速器于同一硅芯片上,内建可处理复杂之九轴运动感测融合算法的数字运动感测处理器(DMP:Digital Motion Processor)。所含之九轴运动感测融合算法,可连接外部的磁力传感器,使组件得以收集整组感测数据。同MPU-3000整合性三轴陀螺仪系列产品,MPU-6000系列产品的包装尺寸为4x4x0.9mm的QFN包装,与MPU-3000系列产品的接脚与引线相同,提供简单的升级路径,易于安装在空间受限的板子上。
伴随于此产品的InvenSense运动感测应用(MotionApps)平台,排除了采用运动感测之产品的复杂度(motion-based complexities),降低了运作系统在管理传感器时的负荷,并为应用开发提供结构化的一套APIs。
为了精准追踪快速与慢速的动作(motions),此产品内含之陀螺仪的可程控(user-programmable)全格感测范围(full-scale range)为±250、±500、±1000、±2000°/sec (dps),加速器的可程控全格感测范围为 ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g.
MPU-6000系列产品由四部分组成,特征摘要请参考下方表格。MPU-6000/6050产品是专为智能型手机、平板电脑、配戴式传感器应用设计的产品,MPU-6100/6150产品是专为数字电视、机顶盒、游戏机遥控器所设计的产品。

InvenSense的三轴陀螺仪为全球首例单芯片、以数字输出的三轴MEMS产品,专门为消费性应用产品设计。本公司三轴产品的特征包含,可将陀螺仪的输出数字化的三个16-bit模拟数字转换器(ADC)、高达±2000°/秒(dps)的全格感测范围(full-scale range)、可程序化的低通滤波器、I2C或SPI序列界面(serial interface)、低电压操作(2.1V到3.6V),以及4x4x0.9mm的QFN包装。此系列产品包含ITG-3050与MPU-3050。
本公司三轴产品会将过滤后的陀螺仪数据传达至序列通信总线(serial communications bus)。ITG-3050仅支援输出原始三轴陀螺仪数据。ITG-3050有第二个I2C主要感测总线(master sensor bus),提供可直接升级至MPU系列产品的路径,使其能与InvenSense的软件解决方案结合。MPU产品特征有内建之数字运动感测处理(DMP:Digital Motion Processor)硬件加速引擎、512 byte的FIFO,以及含可连接至其他厂牌数字加速器的第二个I2C主要感测总线(sensor bus),感测线性与旋转动作,提供完整的六轴融合演算数据。内建的FIFO与感测总线(sensor bus),可缩短系统运算时间,降低系统耗电量。当FIFO使系统微处理器实时读取感测数据并进入休眠状态的同时,专用感测总线,让产品不须另外连接处理器,就可直接从外接的加速器取得数据,使MPU读取更多资料。
因应现今多功能手机,三轴的MPU-3050可为如游戏与在地服务等常见的应用,提供精确的1:1真实动作追踪功能。另外,32-bit的DMP引擎,支持进阶人机界面(UI:User Interface)功能,启动如空中签字(AirSign)的签名验证、随意触控(TouchAnywhere)的应用与导航控制、动作指令(MotionCommand)的手势快捷方式等,利用手势或使用文字辨识等的应用。
专门为网络电视游戏摇杆与遥控器等可携式消费性电子产品设计的MPU-3050,内建了DMP,大幅降低了系统成本。具运动感测功能之手持式产品的系统处理条件,可藉由整合之运动传感器及DMP,搭配其DMP及内建于系统RF芯片的处理器达成。此搭配不但能降低成本,也能应用于众多不同平台上。
为了因应业界产品快速的发展与变动,本公司提供运动感测应用(MotionApp)平台于使用MPU产品系列的厂商。运动感测应用平台含可进行运动处理解决方案的核心演算引擎,并含可简易连接到这些引擎的API层(layer)。另外,如手势辨识等的运动感测应用范例,可加快采用运动感测功能之消费性电子产品的上市时间。本公司备有所有三轴产品的评估板(evaluation board)与参考设计套件(reference design kit)。
