Descriptions

The SC5008 is a highly integrated analog-front-endthat contains all of the analog components required toimplement a wireless power transmitter compliant withWPC specifications. The device integrates a full-bridgepower stage with low-RDS(on) MOSFETs, gate drivers,5V & 3.3V LDOs, communication demodulators andinput current sensing circuit. It can work with atransmitter controller to create a high-performance andcost-effective wireless power transmitter system thatcomplies with both the WPC V1.3.2 Baseline PowerProfile (BPP, not more than 5W) and Extended PowerProfile (EPP, up to 15W).

The wireless power transmitter system supportsforeign object detection (FOD) by continuouslymonitoring the amount of power transferred andcomparing it to the amount of received power, asreported by the power receiver. In order to do this, theSC5008 measures the input DC current veryaccurately using a current sense amplifier. The built-in5V and 3.3V LDOs can power both the internal andexternal circuits. Besides, the SC5008 supports undervoltage lockout (UVLO), over-current & short-circuitprotection (OCP & SCP) and over-temperatureprotection (OTP). The protections significantlyenhance the reliability of the whole wireless powertransmitter system.

The SC5008 is available in a compact 3mm x 4mmQFN package.
